P01 - Approaches to Augment the Posterior Narrow Ridge

This session will review evidence-based procedures and minimally invasive approaches, including open grafting, ridge expansion and horizontal ridge augmentation using particulate graft with GBR/tenting screws and tunneling techniques. Case presentations and technique videos in the session will discuss cone beam computed tomography anatomic considerations, the role of barriers and biologics and materials utilized for the procedures.

There will be a refreshment break from 2:30 - 3 p.m.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

Review bone grafting principles, biology and healing.
Discuss indications and materials available for ridge augmentation as staged or simultaneous with implant procedures.
Use evidence-based surgical procedures, including open flap, minimally invasive and tunneling to perform horizontal ridge augmentation.
